Physics Assignment Topics - some suggestions
1. physics in satellite imaging and analysis (electromagnetic waves, satellite launching, sensors)
2. volcanic activity sensing and prediction (sensors, waves, earthquakes, tsunamis)
3. should Indonesia seriously consider nuclear power, and what are the implications for Singapore? (radioactivity, nuclear power generation, volcanic activity & nuclear power stations)
4. haze detection and monitoring (science of particle detection, different haze scales)
5. the poisoning of an ex-Russian spy (hazards of radioisotopes to humans)
6. radiation in cigarettes (Straits Times 2 Dec)
7. Asian Games 2006 at Doha (Straits Times 2 Dec - Macau table-tennis team disqualified due to illegal amt of glue on bats, which will affect spin & speed of ball; S'pore rower Elsie Lim just received her new boat which is more streamlined than her old, so added speed in water;
8. power failure in Chicago
